Undergraduate researchers who are writing proposals for the 2025 CCCC Undergraduate Researcher Poster Session may submit proposal drafts for peer feedback and coaching via Eli Review. This opportunity will be available during November 2024. (See timeline details below.) Proposal authors who submit a draft for feedback must be willing to provide peer feedback on at least one other draft.
How can I participate in the feedback process?
To participate in the peer feedback and coaching opportunity:
- Create an Eli Review account if you don’t already have one. Thanks to Eli Review, your account is free for CCCC Undergraduate Researcher Poster Session tasks. Use course code slept921oats to join the review site.
- Submit your proposal draft by composing or copying/pasting in the Proposal Draft writing task in Eli Review by 11:45 PM on November 15, 2024. (See more details below.)
- After you’ve submitted a draft, you’ll be assigned another undergraduate researcher’s draft to review. We’ll ask you to describe what you see the writer accomplishing in the draft, to evaluate how the draft meets the proposal guidelines, and to suggest specific strategies for strengthening the proposal. Complete your assigned peer review by 11:45 PM on November 22, 2024.
What should I submit on Eli Review?
To receive feedback on your draft, submit a poster presentation title and a 400-word proposal that:
- Explains your research project: What is your research question and how are you investigating it (e.g., what research methods are you using)? Why is your research topic significant to you and to the field of writing studies?
- Indicates the anticipated status of the project by April 2025. Projects may just be beginning, or still in-progress, when you submit this proposal, but we’d like to know about your anticipated timeline for your project if your research is still in-progress.
- Discusses your interest in sharing your research with CCCC attendees.
- Indicates if you have (or plan to apply for) IRB-approval for your research (if your research involves human participants and your school has an institutional review board or ethics review process for research).
Undergraduate researchers may submit proposal drafts for peer feedback and coaching via Eli Review. Proposal authors who submit a draft for feedback (deadline: November 15) must be willing to provide peer feedback on at least one other draft by November 22:
- Submit your draft between November 11 and November 15.
- Complete at least one peer review between November 16 and November 22.
Revised proposals are due via the online submission website (NOT via Eli Review) by December 6, 2024.
